Pennsylvania Treasurer Wants To Send You Your Unclaimed Money

(Harrisburg, PA) -- A bill being considered in Pennsylvania would send unclaimed money directly to residents of the Commonwealth. The state is sitting on roughly four-billion dollars in unclaimed checks, gift cards, tax refunds, and more. While the leftover funds are typically coupled in with the state's coffers, it doesn't rightfully belong to the state. With that, Pennsylvania's Treasurer Stacy Garrity is proposing legislation that would automatically return unclaimed money to people with no action required on their part.
