Road Closure in Reading Continues Due to Demolition
(Reading, PA) -- The Public Works Department in Reading says deconstruction will continue this week on demolishing part of an abandoned church. Mayor Moran said Monday evening that work will continue until May 10th or until the demolition is finished. City officials said in an earlier news release that the church tower of the building at Perkiomen Avenue and Spruce Street continues to be a hazard. Because of the work, Perkiomen Avenue is still closed from Mineral Spring Road to South 14th Street.
